Ceylon tea, turmeric, cocoa, frozen corked wine, charcoal & squid ink on canvas - 2025
Usually I apply base layers with a spray bottle but given how much fine sediment remains with a cocoa and turmeric based pigment, I wasn’t able to. Even when passed through a coffee filter it still clogs the bottle.
For better or worse it creates unevenness in the background. Warmer nights make these frozen pieces a lot of fun to observe. This would have looked so much different if I made it even a few weeks ago.
