The goal was to create my first red and purple piece. Since hibiscus dries blue, I steeped it in beet juice to create this beautiful deep purple. The intensity of the colors, textures, and motion has me excited to create larger pieces featuring these same techniques. Using bone charcoal instead of unburned bones creates sporadic black highlights and accents that may go unnoticed at first but add a great deal to the final composition.
