This one took far longer to dry than expected, especially after the spontaneous rain shower it endured. I’m convinced that oversight was actually beneficial, though, as it was just enough rain to create a gradient effect instead of washing the blood off completely. Incorporating that rainwater into the piece ties it even more directly to the place and time in which it was created. The texture and details in this piece could never be replicated in quite the same way again.
